lg2 Introducing Audiotech USA Switchers and Effects
Macdaddy Music has just picked up a dealership agreement with Audiotech USA. If you’re familiar with them, you know they make really great products at great prices. Audiotech makes a variety of switchers that are useful both on the stage and in the studio. They also make a growing line of effects pedals that are fantastic. We’re just starting to get their products in, but are taking orders for all of their products.

Often in the world of music gear, manufacturer seem to get a lot of publicity when they have products being used by big names. Audiotech seems to be an exception to this rule. It’s certainly not an issue of product quality – their products are built very well with a two year warranty and have been used by big names for quite some time now. My take on it is that many of Audiotech’s products being used by big name users are switchers (ie the un-sexy side of the music gear world), thus the lack of attention. When’s the last time you heard someone say “dude – that switcher sounds killer! The tone totally makes the song.” If you’re a player you know that switchers are a key part of most players rigs, but they’re the behind the scenes, unsung heroes of equipment. My guess is that with Audiotech’s line of effects pedals they’ll start getting more of the attention that they deserve.

I’m not normally a proponent of name dropping, but in this case I will simply to get a point across. Here’s a short list of players using Audiotech products:

Carlos Santana, Johnny Lang, Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue), Dan Donegan (Disturbed), Brad Paisley, John Fogerty, Vince Gill, John 5 (Rob Zombie), and Andy Summers (The Police).

Even without knowing anything else about the company, that list is enough of an argument to convince me that Audiotech’s got a great line of products and customer service.

Their product line includes:
- Pro-Verdrive OD (PD-1)
- Mid-Boost pedal (MB-1)
- Wicked Metal Pedal (WMP-1 – coming this year)
- ABY MKII Selector/Combiner
- ABC LCM Selector/Combiner w/trim controls (coming this year)
- ABC CCM Selector/Combiner
- Source Selector 1×6 Rack Mount Switcher Unit
- Cables
- Custom switchers

Audiotech is starting to make more of a concerted effort to reach the general market, so I expect to hear a lot more about them in the coming months. Stay tuned!
